Spanish Cinema. Past & Future.
In English. As a parallel activity to the series Spanish Cinema: Past & Future, this four weeks’ workshop offers a panorama of the history of Spanish cinema through the figure of some of its authors and key films. The workshop will include lectures, screenings and the analysis of film fragments, as well as readings and discussion about articles, reviews and academic texts. The workshop will offer a comprehensive and objective view on the evolution of Spanish cinema up until recent productions from a historical, theoretical and practical approach with a means to discover, analysing and questioning the specificity of what we call “Spanish Cinema.”

Eight films will be screened at the Instituto Cervantes on Thursdays during four weeks. Four contemporay films will be paired with four older productions to reveal the themes, narratives and techniques that appear recurrently in Spanish cinema.

Cine español. Pasado y futuro
En inglés. Con motivo del ciclo Cine español: pasado y futuro, y en paralelo al mismo, este taller de cuatro semanas ofrece un recorrido por la historia del cine español a través de autores y películas clave. El taller incluirá ponencias, visionado y análisis de extractos de películas, así como lecturas y comentarios de artículos, críticas y textos académicos. El taller proporciona una visión global y objetiva de la evolución del cine español hasta nuestros días desde una perspectiva histórica, teórica y práctica con el fin de descubrir, analizar y cuestionar la especificidad de eso que llamamos “cine español”.

Un total de ocho películas españolas, cuatro actuales y cuatro históricas, relacionadas entre ellas por parejas y que establecen un diálogo entre el presente y el pasado de la cinematografía española, se proyectarán los jueves.
